Notes From The Road: 2011 in review

Very special thanks to all my reader I really appreciate the 91,013 visits to the blog. 2011 was a very interesting year, for the first time:

• I began writing in my native language for the Portuguese and Brazilian community.
• I began to write articles for Portuguese Community Magazines
• I began to make public presentations for Portuguese Communities
• And I began to contribute in MSDN Code Gallery
• I had the opportunity to give to my readers 7 e-copies of two BizTalk books

And of course, not forgetting my blog: 57 new posts in 2011.

Crunchy numbers

In 2011, there were 57 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 165 posts. That’s about 1 post per week.

The busiest day of the year was October 19th with 736 views. The most popular post that day was BizTalk 2010 Installation and Configuration – Installing and Configuring BizTalk Server (Part 8).

Where did you come from?

Most visitors came from The United States. India & The United Kingdom were not far behind.

The top referring sites in 2011 were biztalkgurus.com, social.msdn.microsoft.com, LinkedIn, WordPress.com, biztalkblogs.com, Google and Google Reader.

Some visitors came searching, mostly for biztalk bam, biztalk 2010 installation, how to install biztalk 2010, biztalk logo, biztalk 2010 books, biztalk macros and biztalk blog.

These are some of my favorite post that I enjoyed writing in 2011:

• Article “Microsoft BizTalk Server seen by the programmer’s eyes”, posted in November. This was my first article for a magazine, which had surprisingly good reviews.
• A different approach to explain what is BizTalk… word clouds, posted in October. I wrote this post a few days after making a presentation, was wrote as a personal opinion, a form of discharge negative energies :), and surprisingly: good reviews.
• BizTalk Mapper Extensions UtilityPack updated for BizTalk Server 2010, posted June. This is a simple migration of the project to BizTalk Server 2010. But I love this personal project.
• Visio 2010 Stencil for BizTalk Server, posted in May. One day I was looking for stencils for BizTalk and decided to create some for my personal use, a few days later and after several visits to the post, I decided to update this “project” with more stencils.
• Pro Mapping in BizTalk Server 2009 Book Review, posted in October. My first review of the BizTalk book.
