Friday Fact: You Can Seamlessly Transfer Actions Between Portal and VS Code

Posted: March 21, 2025  |  Categories: Logic Apps

One interesting feature of the GA Designer in Logic Apps is its ability to copy actions. This functionality speeds up workflow development when you need similar actions repeatedly. Not only can you copy individual actions, but you can also duplicate entire actions—even whole scopes—with all their contents intact. Off course for now this only works with one action at a time, which can be beneficial if you have most of your workflow inside a Scope.

But did you know you can copy these actions across multiple browser tabs? This capability lets you work on several logic apps at once with ease. Just note that every action you copy will automatically have a “copy” suffix appended to its name.

And if that wasn’t enough, you can also transfer actions between the Designer on the Portal and the Designer in VS Code, and vice versa.

It’s a truly versatile feature that makes your workflow almost limitless!
