Microsoft Azure MVP Award 2017

The most anticipated email arrived once again on January 1st. Once again, thank you, Microsoft, for such a wonderful start to the New Year. I’m delighted to share that I was renewed as a Microsoft Azure MVP (Most Valuable Professional).

Moreover, for the first time, a second category was added to my award: Visio MVP. This marks my seventh consecutive year in the MVP Program. It has been an incredible journey that started back in 2011 as a BizTalk MVP.

Since then, this program has given me amazing opportunities. For example, I’ve been able to travel the world, speak at events, and share knowledge. Above all, it has allowed me to meet some of the most talented professionals in our industry.

📝 One-Minute Brief

A personal announcement celebrating the renewal of the Microsoft Azure MVP award in 2017, reflecting on seven consecutive years in the MVP program and thanking the Microsoft teams, community, colleagues, and family for their continued support.

A Journey Built with Support

As usual, this achievement would not be possible without support. Therefore, I would like to express my sincere thanks to many people.

First, I want to thank my MVP Lead, Cristina Herrero, for her continued guidance. In addition, my thanks go to the BizTalk Product Team and Azure Teams, including Jim Harrer, Mandi Ohlinger, Tord G. Nordahl, Dan Rosanova, Jon Fancey, Paolo Salvatori, Kevin‑Lam, and Jeff Hollan.

Furthermore, I would like to thank Microsoft Portugal — Paulo Mena, Luís Calado, Ivo Ramos, Ricardo Jesus, Pedro Santos, and all other Microsoft employees involved.

DevScope and the MVP Community

I also want to thank DevScope, my company, and all my coworkers. I won’t mention names because every single one of them is an amazing professional. Simply put, what an incredible team.

Likewise, my sincere thanks go to all my fellow Microsoft Integration MVPs — Nino Crudele, Steef‑Jan Wiggers, Saravana Kumar, Kent Weare, Mikael Håkansson, Johan Hedberg, Tomasso Groenendijk, Salvatore Pellitteri, Richard Seroter, Stephen W. Thomas, Mick Badran, Michael Stephenson, Bill Chesnut, Thomas Canter, Nicholas Hauenstein, Sam Vanhoutte, Glenn Colpaert, Howard S. Edidin, Martin Abbott, Leonid Ganeline, and Ashwin Prabhu.

Additionally, special thanks to all my blog readers and friends, and of course, to the BizTalk and Azure Integration community. There are so many people involved that I prefer not to list names, just to avoid forgetting someone.

Family and Looking Ahead

Finally, my deepest thanks go to my wife, Fernanda, my kids Leonor and Laura, for all the “confusion and madness” they bring into my life, and to all members of my beautiful family. Thank you for your constant support over the years.

Above all, it is a great honor to be part of this program. I’m truly looking forward to another great year, continuing to contribute to the community and to earn this recognition!

It’s a big honor to be in the program, and I’m looking forward to another great year!

In my native language (Portuguese):

O vosso apoio e partilha fazem toda a diferença.

Hope you find this helpful! If you liked the content or found it useful and would like to support me in writing more, consider buying (or helping to buy) a Star Wars Lego set for my son.
