Sometimes, it’s the little things that make the biggest difference, especially when they simplify our day-to-day workflow.
One of the latest improvements in the Globally Available Logic App Designer might seem small at first glance, but it solves a long-standing frustration for many of us: the ability to initialize multiple variables in a single action.
From Friction to Flow
Until recently, initializing variables in Logic Apps meant creating one action per variable, cluttering the designer and adding unnecessary steps to even the most straightforward workflows. You’d drag in one “Initialize Variable” action, configure it, then repeat… again and again.

Now, that’s a thing of the past.
Microsoft quietly introduced a new feature that allows developers to define all their variables within a single “Initialize Variables” action. Yes, plural. One action, multiple variables.
How Does It Work?
When adding the “Initialize Variables” action, you’ll notice a subtle but important change in its semantics. It now supports an internal list of variables. All you have to do is click on the button “Add a Variable” within the same action.

Once your variables are initialized in a single action, you can use Set Variable actions later in the workflow and access them all from that one centralized definition.

Why This Matters
It’s not just about fewer clicks — it’s about a cleaner, easier-to-maintain workflow. Whether you’re building a quick POC or a production solution, small touches like this make a big difference.
Microsoft keeps improving not just what Logic Apps can do, but how intuitive they are to work with.
