Last year, I presented for the first time at an SQLSaturday: SQLSaturday #341 Porto (Porto-Wine edition). The audience picked my session on BizTalk Services: Introduction to Microsoft Azure BizTalk Services.
This year, I’m happy to be back for the second consecutive year. I’m even happier because it’s in my hometown: Porto.

Event details
On October 3rd, SQLSaturday #429 Porto takes place at ISEP – Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto.
📝 One-Minute Brief
Azure Logic Apps and API Apps are taking center stage at SQLSaturday #429 in Porto on October 3, 2015. Sandro Pereira presents “Logic & API Apps: Why should we care?”—a session designed for data professionals and developers. Learn how to bridge the gap between on-premises SQL Server and cloud-based SaaS like Salesforce and Office 365 using the (then) brand-new Azure App Service ecosystem.
My session (Lightning Talk)
My session this year is: Logic & API Apps: Introduction to Microsoft Azure App Service (Logic and API Apps).
📝 One-Minute Brief
Azure Logic Apps and API Apps take center stage at SQLSaturday #429 in Porto on October 3, 2015. In “Logic & API Apps: Why should we care?”, Sandro Pereira introduces the Azure App Service integration story and shows how to connect on-premises systems with SaaS services using hybrid connections and built-in connectors.
My session (Lightning Talk)
This is a lightning talk (15–20 minutes). It’s a practical introduction to Azure’s new integration features at the time: Logic Apps and API Apps.
During the session, I will cover:
- How to get started with Logic Apps and API Apps
- How to connect on-premises systems using Hybrid Connections
- How to use built-in SaaS connectors from the gallery
- How to automate business processes with Logic Apps, often without writing code
Where to find it in the schedule
You won’t see my session listed by name. It sits inside the “To Be Announced” block, between 03:50 PM and 05:00 PM. That slot includes 3 or 4 lightning talks.
Also worth attending
I also recommend my friend and coworker Rui Romano’s session on Power BI: Power BI for Developers. If you build applications and want to add Power BI experiences, it’s a great fit.
And, of course, don’t miss the DevScope sponsor session. We’ll have an awesome prize for attendees.

Admittance to this event is free; all costs are covered by sponsorships. But please register quickly because seating is limited, and let friends and colleagues know about the event.
