At their core, mainframes are high-performance computers with large amounts of memory and processors that process billions of simple calculations and transactions in real-time. The mainframe is critical to commercial databases, transaction servers, and applications that require high resiliency, security, and agility

Host Integration Server

Microsoft Host Integration Server (HIS) technologies and tools enable enterprise organizations to integrate existing IBM host systems, programs, messages, and data with new Microsoft server applications.

HIS allows IT administrators to securely and efficiently connect new systems to existing systems using industry-standard High-Performance Routing (HPR) and Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) over Internet Protocol (IP). This reduces operating expenses and total cost of ownership while supporting existing and new computing workloads.

HIS 2016 is available in one technology package licensed as additional software to the core editions of Microsoft BizTalk Server 2016.

  1. Thanks for this detailed guide, Sandro! The step-by-step instructions made the installation process much clearer. I appreciate the insights on configuration options as well. Looking forward to applying this in my projects!

  2. Hello Sandro

Did you ever get a chance to install/configure HIS 2020 to connect to a Payer (who has IBM) and send any healthcare transactions like eligibility?

We are looking for some help with the setup on how to send a transaction from our .NET app to HIS so it can send that transaction out to IBM.

Would you be able to either point to a detailed instruction guide and/or willing to help us out here?
