I’m proud to announce that I will present Introduction to Microsoft Azure BizTalk Services at SQLSaturday #341 Porto (Portugal) on October 18th, 2014!
I’m truly excited and honored. This is the first time I submitted a session to this type of event, and the attendees selected me to speak at an SQLSaturday in my hometown.
This is the fourth edition of the conference in Portugal and the first one held in Porto. The event includes three parallel tracks:
- Administration/Development (DBA)
- Business Intelligence (BI)
- Development (.NET)

📝 One-Minute Brief
This post announces a speaking session at SQLSaturday #341 Porto (October 18, 2014). The session introduces Microsoft Azure BizTalk Services and explains how cloud integration handles EAI and EDI scenarios, message exchange with partners, maps and schemas, and the challenges of migrating from BizTalk Server to a PaaS-based integration platform.
About my session…
Historically, organizations used BizTalk Server to implement both EAI and EDI solutions. However, Microsoft is now moving these integration scenarios toward the cloud.
In this session, I will present an early look at how Microsoft envisions integration in a Platform as a Service (PaaS) environment using Microsoft Azure BizTalk Services.
We will explore:
- EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) capabilities
- EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) scenarios
- Managing trading partners in the BizTalk Services Portal
- Flat files, schemas, and message transformations (maps)
- Challenges when moving from BizTalk Server to BizTalk Services
Session Level: Beginner
