Great news for the BizTalk community!
For the third time, the BizTalkCrew — Steef-Jan Wiggers, Tord Glad Nordahl, Nino Crudele, Saravana Kumar, and myself — is hosting BizTalk Innovation Day, a one-day event focused entirely on Microsoft BizTalk Server, BizTalk Services, and related integration topics in Norway.
The previous two editions were held in Stavanger.
This year, the event takes place in Oslo on Thursday, September 25, 2014, from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM at:
MESH AS
Tordenskiolds Gate 3
0160 Oslo, Norway

About My Session
Last year, I presented BizTalk Mapping Patterns and Best Practices.
That session eventually led me to start writing a book on the same topic, which I have been working on for the past 12 months. I hope to share more news about it during the event.
This year, I decided not to choose the topic myself.
Instead, I asked Tord Glad Nordahl to select a subject that the Norwegian community would like to hear. I told him I would speak about anything!
So it’s not my fault that Tord picked a similar area 😊
My session will focus on message transformation in BizTalk Services.
Session Abstract: BizTalk Server vs BizTalk Services Transformations
Migrating existing BizTalk Server projects to BizTalk Services — or starting new projects directly in BizTalk Services — introduces several challenges. Although the development experience looks familiar, we are dealing with a new Azure integration platform. One major difference is the way message transformations are implemented using the new Transform Designer.
During the session, we will explore the main differences between:
- BizTalk Mapper (BizTalk Server)
- Transform Designer (BizTalk Services)
We will also cover:
- Migrating existing maps using the BizTalk Map Migration Tool
- The limitations of the migration process
- Whether existing maps can be reused in BizTalk Services
- How to solve common mapper problems
- How the editor works and its available features
The goal is to help you understand the new transformation model and improve your BizTalk Services development skills.

Would you guys be having any similar sessions in the US?
There is something that we plan to do in the future but we still have to get some local support and sponsorship. This year we have a BizTalk Summit in Australia with some of us… maybe next year we can do the same in US with the all BizTalkCrew members.
